Arctic® apples will soon be going through their first commercial harvest! Harvest is always an exciting time of year, but after close to 15 years of field trials, the fruit of this labor will be extra sweet. As some of you may know, I live in the Canadian prairies on a grain farm, so I understand the pride and effort that goes into growing a crop, and the excitement that comes with harvest! One of my favorite parts of harvest on my farm is field supper, where we eat supper in the field, tailgate style. It is the only set break time for those harvesting, and we like to make it special. This means I am challenged to create a meal that: A) is transportable B) is a people pleaser and C) can be made around my work day. I set out to create a fun, quick recipe our harvesting crew would enjoy and it made me think: why let strawberries have all the fun?
